The Clinic respects your right to the privacy of any personal information you provide us with. Personal information includes your name, contact details, click-through activity and any other details you may provide on www.professionalboundaries.org.uk. To this end, unless you designate otherwise or we state otherwise in these Terms or at the time information is collected, any personal information you provide to www.professionalboundaries.org.uk will be known only to two parties: yourself and The Clinic. For some courses personal information is required and is provided by course participants. Paperwork with personal details is retained for a minimum of 5 years and access is available to the individual concerned following written request at any time.
In connection with training, we collect and use your personal information for the following purposes:
Each time a visitor comes to www.professinalboundaries.org.uk, our servers collect some basic standard technical information, for example the visitor’s domain name, referral data and browser and platform type. We also count, track and aggregate the visitor’s activity into our analysis of general traffic flows at our sites. To these ends, we may merge information about visitors and visits into group data, which may then be shared on an aggregated basis with a third party, but we will not disclose your individual identity or personally identifiable data without your permission. When we do present aggregated information to a third party, nobody will be able to identify you or contact you.
After subscribing to a Clinic email mailing list, users will start receiving emails containing Clinic commentaries and/or notifications of new material and training events on www.professionalboundaries.org.uk or other Clinic-related events, as well as infrequent other announcements from Clinic. We collect subscribers’ email addresses in order to distribute those emails and do not otherwise share them with any third party. Users can choose to unsubscribe from Clinic emails at any time.
When participating in some courses demographic data is collected. This is used internally and anonymously to review our services and may from time to time be utilised aggregated and anonymised as part of published service reviews.
The Clinic will not otherwise use or disclose your personal information without your consent, except:

As required by law, court order or as requested by other government or law enforcement authority.
As required by the organisations Confidentiality Policy.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and you irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall (subject to the paragraph below) have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute which may arise out of, under, or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Website or arising in any way from the Content.
For our exclusive benefit, we shall retain the right to bring proceedings as to the substance of the matter in the courts of your country of residence, or where these Terms are entered into in the course of your trade or profession, the country of your principal place of business.

In the course of training it became very clear that boundary crossing and violation present issues that appraisers need to fully understand if their appraisal of colleagues is to be effective. Practical examples of how these arise were particularly useful and the discussions that followed were engaging and informative. The facilitator was thoroughly familiar with his material and the balance between the input of theory and discussion of how to put it into practice, which was done in small groups, was well judged.
Since the workshop, I have incorporated “Professional boundaries” as a regular teaching topic for my medical students and junior doctors under my supervision. I have also used the Clinic’s free on line teaching module on the London Deanery site with medical students with very good success. The workshop was a success and we thank you again for it.
This work has been good value for money and it has been good to be in such open and constructive dialogue. I, and the URC, recommend the Clinic without reservation.
